Annual Campaign Kick-Off Cocktail Party

The Easton Republican Town Committee held its' "Annual Campaign Kick-Off Cocktail Party" on Sunday, October 21 at the home of Denise Larson Fenton of Morning Glory Drive. A record turnout of over 80 Republican supporters, including State Senator John McKinney and State Representative John Stripp, along with retiring First Selectman, William J. Kupinse, were present to encourage the slate of candidates led by First Selectman candidate, Tom Herrmann.

The honoree of this year's event was Philip Petron who served on the Easton Board of Finance for almost 18 years before retiring in 2005. Celebrating with Phil were his wife, Elaine, and three sons, Chris, Alex and Peter, all of whom grew up in Easton. According to Easton Republican Town Committee Chairman, Hugh J. Barry, "Phil worked long and hard for all the people of Easton over many years representing their interests on our Board of Finance. The spirit of volunteerism exemplified by Phil is what makes Easton such a very special place. It is only through the dedication of over 125 people of all parties who faithfully serve the Town on its many boards and commissions that Easton functions so well".
